Dorm at the Edge of Town
We met friends who had a camper
you were a smoker and we stooda
ankle-deep in the mud
and then a thunderclap
I recall her hair was short
we stood close to the fence
to listen to one of the bands
then you wanted home
I always felt alone in a big crowd
that MDMA thing never worked out
the music was too loud
gritty things and dirt and stardust
all these things could be found in her dorm
at the edge of town
all of my profound knowledge
of prehistorical creatures
was put at stake when you kissed me
down by the lake
and when the walls came closing in
like a medieval trap I tried to escape
before my bones would snap
I'd never look back
mom and dad ordered a paint job for my room
the stench was so intense
mom gave me perfume
and left me in gloom
